Sexuality has been an issue for mankind for generations. The ancient Romans hoped to restore virility by means of songbird
tongues while the Greeks used bull testicles for this purpose. Casanova swore by the power of oysters and is said to have had
up to 50 oysters for breakfast every morning! Crushed animal horns or pickled beetles - even the animal world was utilised in
trying to increase lust. Women took advantage of traditional knowledge of herbs to liven up their love life.
No doubt, sex is part of it! It is an important element of life and an enrichment to it. However, in spite of sexual education,
constant exposure and overstimulation by the media where lust and love are concerned, sexuality still is a rather complex and
complicated topic.
Sexual problems can put a considerable strain on partnerships. Both, women and men can suffer from sexual disorders. Around 30 per cent of all American women are said to have libido problems (lack of sexual interest / sexual dysfunctions). According to relevant surveys, every third man aged between 40 and 70 years suffers from erectile dysfunctions. Statistically speaking, up to 8 million men in Germany are affected.
