Infections
Each and every year!
In most cases, it is not dangerous but a nuisance to everyone. More than once a year almost everyone suffers from it – cold, cough, hoarseness.
It is especially in the in-between seasons with cold and damp weather that the risk of infection increases. Signs for a weakened immune system are frequently occurring infections of the respiratory system in particular, the building of blisters on the lips, mycosis and badly healing wounds. The human immune system is largely responsible for the body's being susceptible to illnesses. Therefore, it is our duty to support our immune system in fulfilling its "function" the best we can.
Thanks to the special active ingredients residing in the Purple coneflower and used in Cefatox®, the activity of defence and scavenger cells of the immune system can be increased. As a result, the endogenous defences will be strengthened.
Cefatox® effervescent tablets will help you to get over recurring infections in a natural and gentle way.
Native American Tribes held the healing power of the Purple coneflower in high esteem
The red purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) is a perennial herbal composite plant of the family of Asteraceae. Once native only to North America, nowadays it is also grown in Europe, even as an ornamental garden plant. Petals directed to the ground are typical of the Purple coneflower. The generic name "Echinacea" goes back to the Greek word for "hedgehog" - because of the form of the flower head.
The aboriginal inhabitants of North America pounded leaves and roots and used them as a remedy against snakebites and for the treatment of wounds and infections of any kind. It was only at the beginning of the last century that this curative plant became known in Europe.
Today, it is well known that specific ingredients of the Echinacea purpurea contribute to an increasing activity and fitness of the immune system. Infectious germs like viruses and bacteria which have invaded the human body can be destroyed much quicker and the organism becomes much more resistant. For many years now, preparations made from Echinacea purpurea have been used to effectively strengthen the immune system.

The immune system
The human body is able to protect itself against many infectious germs, such as e. g. viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. The identification of such infectious germs and defence against them is achieved by a complex endogenous defence system that consists of two protective walls:
1. protective wall: unspecific defence system with inborn reactions
2. protective wall: specific defence system learning something new all the time
The immune system consists of organs such as tonsils, lymph nodes, specific lymph tissues in the intestine, spleen and bone marrow and different cells in the blood, lymph fluid and tissue which are constantly on the lookout for infectious germs such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites.
In any case of a "contact with the enemy", first those cells are getting active belonging to the large group of leukocytes, the so-called scavenger or killer cells. They are responsible for identifying and destroying attacking infectious germs.
In response to getting in contact with infectious germs, the endogenous immune system starts to produce antibodies. Those antibodies (immunoglobulines) mark the invaders for the killer cells to be able to discover and destroy them quickly.
After the infectious germs being destroyed, some cells (so-called B-lymphocytes) keep the enemy in mind (immunologic memory). Such memory cells are able to recognise specific infectious germs, e. g. chickenpox or German measles, even after years have passed. That is why the human body suffers from children's illnesses only once as a rule. Other infectious germs such as the influenza virus or the rhinovirus, however, undergo constant change and therefore, memory cells are not able to react in an appropriate manner. This is the reason why colds and infections come back all the time.
Every day the immune system has to be at best performance!
Therefore, the most important prerequisite for us feeling good every day is a fit and functioning immune system.

Reaction to contact with the "enemy"
It is, of course, not possible even for this complex apparatus to protect the body against any illness.
Naturally, such a complex network exposed to multiple influences is susceptible to disturbances.
The defence system of children in particular is not yet fully developed and thus not able to protect the body against every infectious germ.
If the immune system's efficiency goes down, the ground is prepared for infections to attack the body frequently.

"Enemies to the immune system"
- intake of certain medicines, e. g. cortisone, cytostatics, antibiotics
- chronic illnesses, e. g. diabetes mellitus, heart complaints and cancerous diseases
- operation, radiation therapy
- permanent stress, e. g. at work, at school, when taking exams, in the family
- mental strain, e. g. mourning, dissatisfaction
- unusual circumstances of life, e. g. move, journey, special diet
- unbalanced diet
- growing environmental pollution
- hormonal changes (puberty, menopause)
