Highly dosed vitamin D3 for the specific food supplementation
Vitamin D3 – sun - skin - food
For the vitamin D3 production in the skin cells daily a part of the skin – for example face and arms – should be exposed uncovered for 30 minutes to the sun and UV radiation.
The fear of skin damages, however, more and more prevents from a daily unprotected sunbath. Furthermore, the skin more and more loses the ability of own production when growing older and the sun in our latitudes is so low from October to April that a vitamin D3 formation in the skin is not at all possible.
The compensation by a balanced nutrition should rank first. Since daily cod liver oil and fat-rich fish often is not on the menu, deficiency states can occur, especially in the winter half year. The results of the German National Nutrition Survey from 2008 show a distinct undersupply with vitamin D3 in 82% of the men and 91% of the women in Germany. If the food is not sufficient for the coverage of the demand or there is an increased demand, it is recommendable to supplement the daily nutrition with vitamin D3.
Vitamin D3 – far more than only a bone vitamin
For a long time it has been known that a regulated intake of the essential micro nutrient vitamin D3 is very important for the bone strength. By the control of intake and use of the minerals calcium and phosphorus, vitamin D3 makes a contribution to the mineralisation of bones and teeth. An adequate supply of vitamin D3 is therefore important for the health maintenance of bones and teeth.
Latest insights show that vitamin D3 is more versatile than until now presumed. Vitamin D3 also contributes to the maintenance of the muscle function and has a role in the process of cell division. Stable bones and muscles can help to maintain a safe walk and to decrease the risk of falling and fractures. Furthermore, vitamin D3 contributes to the normal function of the immune system and therewith has an influence on the immune defence.
A healthy body is for a lifetime dependent on an intact immune system.
